Then and Now

Reading

Gone on vacation for 2 weeks and upon my return AKP read me "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Seuss (all except the one page she doesn't like!). Gram and Gramps, she'll read it to you when you get here too! She also left me a note she wrote all my herself hoping I was having a 'grat' (great) time. I'll try to photograph and post - very sweet. Of course the next night, she left me a note on my pillow that read 'Mom, I am very annoyed with you.' Alas.

Well, it's taken me forever to figure out and remember to post...so sorry. Here is a random selection of pictures from our early days. This is not all our pictures but I keep forgetting to send myself the pictures from our ipad. One of these days...but something is better than nothing. Enjoy!

For readers with munchkins, Rat-a-Tat-Cat is a great card game. As is Mermaid Beach. Two good discoveries this weekend, along with the very cool game store in Queen Anne where we found them.

AKP: so what's your new job?
BF: well, now I work for a company that gives money to organizations that are helping kids be healthy all over the world
AKP: So if you have a kid, can you just bring it [money] home?

Just because this is our only picture from Sun Valley, Idaho over the long 4th of July weekend doesn't mean we didn't have a good time (we did!) or that there weren't plenty of other beautiful and interesting things to photograph (there were!). Blame it on lazy parents, hot weather and forgetting our camera - instead you will have to imagine staying at a cute little inn in town with a pool and hot tub, across the street from a park with a fountain (despite the electric blue water in the fountain, it was a huge hit!), with miles and miles of bike trail along the Wood River, views of the Sawtooth Mountains in all directions, and a local coffee shop with great coffee and breakfast food that we went to every morning. Supposedly there were great fireworks too but we all fell asleep before they started at 10:30PM!

Well, we haven't uploaded a video in ages. This may not be the best, but it's something! 

Watch out!

At City Sprouts summer camp...learning about how gardens support native bird species, although not sure that message actually got through :-) But she did tell me that the owl with orange eyes only blinks with one eye at a time and is growing new feathers...pretty interesting!
