Is Pippi Longstocking a classic?

After 6 weeks of books all over the floor - and I mean ALL OVER the floor - of her room, we've finally added a bookshelf to AKP's den. After meticulous consideration of its placement, she announced that she had a plan. "I'd like to have all the poetry and poems go together up here, and then one row for all the classics..." at which point both of us cracked, and then tried to hide, a smile. "What, what's so funny?" she says. "Nothing, nothing at all dear, high five for a great system."
Classics? From a 5-year-old? Proud parents we are indeed :-)

Then and Now

Reading

Gone on vacation for 2 weeks and upon my return AKP read me "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Seuss (all except the one page she doesn't like!). Gram and Gramps, she'll read it to you when you get here too! She also left me a note she wrote all my herself hoping I was having a 'grat' (great) time. I'll try to photograph and post - very sweet. Of course the next night, she left me a note on my pillow that read 'Mom, I am very annoyed with you.' Alas.

For readers with munchkins, Rat-a-Tat-Cat is a great card game. As is Mermaid Beach. Two good discoveries this weekend, along with the very cool game store in Queen Anne where we found them.
